In the final analysis, a drawing simply is no longer a drawing, no matter how self-sufficient its execution may be. It is a symbol, and the more profoundly the imaginary lines of projection meet higher dimensions, the better.

Students see logos on a constant basis in their everyday life. A logo identifies specific items or companies through the use of a graphic. The Nike “swoosh” is a good example. The design is simple with elements of symbolism and should be easily recognized by others . With the use of symbols and graphics, logos are able to communicate ideas.

This lesson helps students gain an understanding about the underlying processes that go into designing a logo. The students will create their own logo which will represent something important about his or her personality.
